A melamine cabinet carcass is the box (sides, bottom, top, shelves, back) that forms the structural skeleton of kitchen, bath or wardrobe units.

• Skin: thermally-fused melamine-impregnated paper (≈ 0.2 mm) on both faces.
• Core: most commonly 16 or 18 mm particle-board (PB) or medium-density fibre-board (MDF); occasionally plywood for upgraded lines.
• Edge: 1–2 mm PVC or ABS banding applied by hot-melt PUR adhesive for moisture seal and finished look.
